Bye bye, La Bamba’s (a decent but rather overpriced Mexican restaurant that was a staple of my neighborhood since the ’80s). Continuing a long tradition of affordable dining on Kapahulu, a Korean plate lunch restaurant has since taken its place.June 2011 update: Hansik 21, the Korean plate lunch place, has gone out of business. The lot has been empty for a couple months now. I was a little sad to see it go, as it had some decent authentic Korean cuisine and a friendly counter girl whom I enjoyed talking with while waiting for my food. Another dining establishment will probably move in next, but who knows how long that will last… Zoom
